Tees Valley Lithium (TVL) is leading efforts to secure the future of lithium refining in the UK. Based in the heart of Teesside’s industrial and chemical cluster, we are developing a world-class lithium refining hub to serve Europe’s growing demand for battery materials.
By reducing reliance on overseas processing and delivering a local, low-carbon source of high-purity lithium, TVL will support British and European battery manufacturers as they scale up production.
Our refinery will be the UK’s flagship midstream facility, built to produce battery-grade lithium chemicals at commercial scale.
By fostering local talent and engaging with regional stakeholders, we’re also creating skilled jobs and long-term economic growth for Teesside and beyond.
TVL’s output will be enough to power more than 2 million electric vehicles per year – a critical supply as the UK and Europe accelerate electrification.
